Rev. Dr. Jamie Washam

Rev. Dr. Jamie P. Washam is the 37th settled minister of the First Baptist Church in America in Providence, RI. Jamie is a seventh-generation Texan, born and raised in Midland, in a Southern Baptist household. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and Harvard Divinity School. She was ordained an American Baptist minister in 2001. Prior to pastoring in Providence, she served churches in Chicago, Illinois and Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She considers it a privilege and joy to follow in the way of Jesus in the church gathered by Roger Williams in 1638. She also serves as the Board President of the American Baptist Home Mission Societies.
